Mr.Roy D. Coons.
Safety Coordinator
Mr. Coons is responsible for the development, implementation and management of the University's Environmental, Health and Safety Programs. Mr. Coons serves as a member of the Texas A & M University System Environmental, Health and Safety Council which assists the System Director of Risk Management and Safety by recommending uniform environmental, health and safety program guidelines. Prior to becoming the E,H&S Coordinator Mr. Coons was an instructor with the National Spill Control School, a component of the TAMU-CC College of Science and Technology which teaches classes in emergency response and safety. Mr. Coons received a Certification in Mold Remediation from the Indoor Air Quality Association, and is a Qualified Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Instructor as defined by the American Society of Safety Engineers. Mr. Coons earned a BS degree in Geology from Texas A&I University, Kingsville, Texas.


Ms. Fran Trevino
Senior Administrative Assistant
Fran Trevino is the Senior Administrative Assistant for the Environmental, Health & Safety Department assisting and supporting the Safety Coordinator and Safety Specialists. She has been with the University for twenty-five years and with the E,H&S

Department since 1997. She is responsible for the administrative support to the overall operation of the Environmental, Health & Safety Department. Her duties include assisting in the development of the University's E,H&S manuals and editorial revisions of these documents. Fran maintains a communications link between the campus community and the E,H&S office and serves as the coordinator for the Environmental, Health & Safety Committee, maintaining the Minutes and membership. She works closely with Physical Plant and Health Services as well as building administrators for Fire Drills and University Safety Training Programs. Her duties also include departmental purchases and travel.


Ms. Thuy Fleming
Safety Specialist

Thuy Fleming is a Safety Specialist with the Environmental, Health and Safety Department at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.   Her duties include maintaining the safety and compliance of all laboratories on campus, managing employee safety programs such as Bloodborne

Pathogen Prevention, Electrical Safety, Control of Hazardous Energy, etc.  She is also responsible for the university hazardous waste management program.   Prior to joining Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, she was a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist for Spectrolab, Inc., a unit of the Boeing Integrated Defense Systems in Los Angeles, California.  Her education consists of a B.S. and a M.S. degrees in Environmental and Occupational Health from California State University of Northridge.  Mrs. Fleming is a Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP.)
