TAMUCC Environmental Policy

Texas A&M University Corpus Christi is dedicated to being an exemplary environmental steward. In keeping with this vision and to maintain the campus effectively while also working to preserve the environment for future students, the University affirms its commitment to environmental excellence and actively promotes a healthy, quality environment. The University embraces its role to provide educational leadership to achieve the goals of this policy and to balance fiscal and environmental responsibility.

Educational Leadership on Environmental Management

In 2012 and 2013, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi's Environmental, Health & Safety Department, in a collaboration effort with TAMUCC’s Environmental Science Department and The National Spill Control School, used a graduate level class titled Environmental Science (ESCI) 5490: - Advanced Topic: Environmental Management Systems. The graduate researchers worked on implementing an Environmental Management System on the TAMUCC campus. Their professor, who is also the Director of the National Spill Control School, and the Environmental Specialist have teamed to instruct the class in how to gather information, interview employees, and how to create continues environmental improvements through Environmental Management Systems.
